On July 7, 2025, Dr. Wiparat Dee-ong, Executive Director of the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), appointed Ms. Sirinporn Diewtrakoon, Deputy Executive Director, to preside over the press conference for the launch of “TECO FlexShield”, a Thai-developed intelligent thermal insulation innovation. The product was recently awarded at the prestigious 50th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, Switzerland.

The event was hosted by Dr. Sanat Wongtaweethong, Deputy Executive Director of the Thailand Science Park, National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), who delivered the welcome speech. Mr. Thanakorn Siriwattanalert, Chairman and Managing Director of TAS Corporation, shared his experience of representing Thailand and presenting the innovation in Geneva.
In her speech, Ms. Sirinporn Diewtrakoon emphasized NRCT’s critical role in promoting and advancing Thai innovations to the international stage. She noted that the Council’s core mission is to elevate Thailand’s research and innovation capacity to be globally competitive by supporting promising innovations that can be scaled and create tangible positive impacts on the economy, society, and environment. The NRCT also serves as Thailand’s official nominating body recognized by global organizations such as the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) and the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA), responsible for selecting and endorsing Thai innovations for international exhibitions and competitions.
One of the major events NRCT consistently supports is the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, which this year marked its 50th edition. The exhibition is globally recognized for its history, high standards, and rigorous judging by panels of international experts across various sectors. Receiving an award from this event is widely regarded as a symbol of quality and global potential.
TECO FlexShield, developed by T.A.S Corporation, was selected by NRCT as one of Thailand’s official entries to the Geneva exhibition. The innovation successfully won a medal at the event, in addition to a special award from a Saudi Arabian organization and the NRCT Special Award. TECO FlexShield stands out for its sustainable design concept, seamlessly combining technology and environmental responsibility. It represents the vision, capability, and commitment of the Thai private sector to elevate national innovation to global standards.

The product’s advancement has also been supported by collaboration with the Green World Association for Environmental Sustainability, ensuring that the innovation is applied in practical and socially impactful ways.
NRCT’s involvement in this success reflects its proactive role in cultivating Thailand’s innovation ecosystem and empowering Thai inventors to reach global platforms with stability and sustainability.
